How LexSweep works

How do I play LexSweep?

Pick any row, type a 5-letter guess, and submit. Green letters are in the right spot, yellow letters are in the word but the wrong spot, gray letters are not in that row. Solve all 5 rows within 8 guesses. Because the grid is symmetric (row[i] reads the same as column[i]), every green letter you find in one row also locks the matching column letter — so your guesses inform each other.

Why are there 8 guesses and not 6 like Wordle?

You're solving 5 word puzzles in parallel, not one. Eight guesses across all five rows averages out to less than two guesses per row — tighter than Wordle's six guesses on a single word — but the shared-column hints make it work. We tested six and it felt unfair; eight gives skilled players room to triangulate.

When does the daily puzzle reset?

Every day at 00:00 UTC. Your local reset time depends on your time zone — for the US East Coast that's 8:00 PM the previous day; for the West Coast, 5:00 PM; for the UK, midnight.

Is LexSweep free?

Yes. LexSweep is free to play and supported by display ads. No signup, no download, no paywall, no premium tier.

Can I play past puzzles?
